Macquarie, ACME help finance renewable ammonia projects

A $325 million investment from Macquarie Asset Management will support Atlas Agro’s new Pacific Green Fertilizer Plant in Washington state, USA. FID on the plant is due early next year, which will produce 700,000 tonnes of zero-carbon nitrate fertiliser each year.

In India, ACME Group has secured two loans from REC Limited: $500 million to fully finance the first phase of the ACME’s Duqm renewable ammonia project, and $2.5 billion to support the first phases of ACME’s “round the clock” renewable power projects in Odisha and Tail Nadu.

bp to acquire majority stake & operatorship of Asian Renewable Energy Hub

bp will acquire a 40.5 percent equity stake in and become operator of the Asian Renewable Energy Hub, after reaching an agreement with project partners InterContinental Energy, CWP Global and Macquarie Capital. At full-scale AREH will feature production of up to 9 million tonnes of renewable ammonia per year for export.

Incitec Pivot investigates green ammonia supply from Newcastle to Singapore

Incitec Pivot, Keppel Infrastructure and Temasek signed a new MoU this week to investigate the production and export of green ammonia from Australia to Singapore. Incitec Pivot's existing Kooragang Island facility in Newcastle, Australia could be one source, with the other being a potential greenfield site in Gladstone. Green ammonia production also represents a potential lifeline for Incitec Pivot's Gibson Island plant in Brisbane, which will cease conventional ammonia production by the end of 2022.
